At the Garden Hotel

Image

We made it through the cattle herd of 2 train stations, been nearly assaulted by a beggar buying our train tickets, but now we finally made it to our last destination. We are at the Garden Hotel and it felt almost like we were in the movies coming in as you’re treated like royalty.

Unpacking we found 2 packages of these masks and cracked up. In general the “Chingrish” here is hilarious.

We tried to do some videoing on the way to the train station, but missed the guy on the moped with 2 huge water tanks. Last night we saw a family of 5 on a motorcycle. Welcome to China!

The fabulous big sister

Saturday morning we were getting ready to go out the door when Lucy came down the stairs and said “I have a lot of money so you and Daddy can go to China to get Yu Fen now.” Then she added, “But don’t spend it all, because I need some to go shopping with Yu Fen when she gets home.”

Our goofy Lucy

Our goofy Lucy

With our little comedian, it’s hard getting a good picture of her and her big sister shirt. She’s at that stage where anything but a regular smile is HILARIOUS. She totally cracks herself up. Everyone seems to know her, because she’s not shy, so goofy, and talks way too much.

Big Sister Lucy!

Big Sister Lucy!

I was so excited to find this big sister shirt for Lucy. It’s in Chinese “Jie Jie”. She can’t wait for her sister to come home. Will probably be around September at this rate. 😦 Praying that we have her home soon!

All the goodies to Yu Fen!

All the goodies to Yu Fen!

We were able to use a 3rd party service in China “Red Thread China” to get a care package to Yu Fen. The backpack is full of all the goodies we sent – dress, talking phone, doll, etc. Ann included the memory card and the clothes are a donation to the orphanage. The service included translating a letter from us to Yu Fen and to her caregivers. Really hope we get pictures of Yu Fen with her goodies!!!

Update: I heard on April 10th, that Yu Fen received her package!! We hope the orphanage will send up pictures with her and her new toys and dress.
