We got a phone call from our USCIS adoption officer (aka Homeland Security) and a criminal background from Minnesota is not enough. We must supply them with a clearance for abuse and neglect as well. I thought that would be on a criminal record, but I guess now. Good news though is that it sounds like our paperwork is nearly finished and the officer asked if we’ve had our official fingerprinting done yet. AND, then the Form I-797C Notice of Action for fingerprinting came in the mail today. YAY! Our appointment isn’t until May, but everyone suggests just walking in. You can do that at this office in St. Louis. One person I know got approval the day after walking in this way.
Many thanks 🙂
